The Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline is proud to work closely with the groups and organizations listed below in developing and enhancing teacher education.

Illinois State University

Founded in 1857 as the first public university in Illinois, Illinois State University has a "rich heritage as the state's leader in all facets of teacher education, from classroom instruction to educational administration and statewide policy setting" (Educating Illinois, 2001). The College of Education provides leadership in teacher education through delivery of programs in Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education and Educational Administration; coordination of the Council for Teacher Education; and dissemination of research that informs policy and practice. Chicago Public Schools

Chicago Public Schools (Chicago Public Schools) supports the Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline by encouraging middle and high school students to become teachers, particularly in areas of high need. Chicago Public Schools collaborates with the University to identify students with aspirations to become a teacher and assists those students with aspects of postsecondary matriculation such as admissions, financial aid, advising and transferring from City Colleges of Chicago. Once students have completed their teacher education program at Illinois State University, Chicago Public Schools will facilitate their return to Chicago to obtain pre-service clinical hours and to participate in a year-long residency during their senior year at a Professional Development School.

City Colleges of Chicago

The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), a system of seven community colleges, provides postsecondary learning opportunities for Chicago's diverse populations. City Colleges of Chicago supports the Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline by participating in articulation activities and programs supporting teacher education programs at Illinois State University.

Little Village Community Development Corporation

Little Village Community Development Corporation (LVCDC) supports the Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline by partnering to develop a new model for educational renewal through the construction of a community-based residential facility for teacher candidates. In cooperation with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the Little Village Community Development Corporation was instrumental in developing the Quality of Life Plan: Little Village, Capital of the Mexican Midwest.
